CREAM.

Ginger Baker - drums, vocals; Jack Bruce - bass, harpsichord, vocals; Eric Clapton - guitar, vocals.
Three legendary figures from the British R&B scene who joined together to form the first true supergroup in rock. Each member was a soloist, probably the best in the world - and they knew it. Their often inspired playing was usually the result of each one trying to out-do the others. They were always doomed to break-up. Their egos and the distinct dislike shown by Ginger to Jack often resulted in fights in the back of their van en-route to gigs.
The bands career was short lived but made them one of the most famous bands in the world. A fact that only Eric seems to have overcome. His solo work has developed into a more acceptable mainstream style while the others have never found their niche.
Jack Bruce in particular, seems dogged by a lack of subsequent success and is often to be found changing his style or musical direction in an effort to rekindle past glories.
