Other items on offer are Marc Bolan's signed tambourine and - at £2,500 - a pair of Jimi Hendrix's trousers.
There are also much cheaper items to be had, with prices starting at £1.
Collector turned dealer, Roy Deane, picked up the hat when a friend spotted it for sale at a charity auction in America.
He thinks that the hat could fetch £800.
He said: "I am a compulsive collector and have been after a Michael Jackson hat for a while.
The hat was a bargain at only $650 as the people at the sale were more Interested in the Elvis Presley items on offer.
But he can never hold on to his trophies for very long - his wife makes him get rid of them.
"She is constantly shouting at me as we have had to move twice in the last three years to make room for all my stuff."
Everything is on offer at the sale from framed items and limited edition books to radios and bubble gum cards.
